Thanks for merging, that was much faster than I expected! I used AC3 because I wasn't aware of the underlying theory behind constraint propagation. I'll be trying out AC4 now that I'm aware of it. |

I just noticed that you put a lot of effort into optimization. AC4 speeds it up significantly, especially for samples with many patterns. |
