What's New

  • Added XMP/EXIF tag editor to the Metadata dialog for various image formats (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, JXL, WEBP).
  • Deprecated some SMB options (smb1, smb3, signing, force202) and added a new 'dialect' setting. Valid options are: 3.1.1, 3.0.2, 3.0, 2.1, 2.0.2, and cifs or 1 for SMB1.
  • Upgraded the SMB server from the legacy SMBv1 (CIFS) protocol to the more secure and modern SMBv2. Note that CIFS is not supported, but may added to new library in the future based on user requests.
  • Removed WIM from Archiving options.
  • Resolved a critical issue in the database editor where after switching from a cached db to different readable db, it would incorrectly treat the next database's parent directory as a temporary folder and delete it on exit.
  • Implemented M3U8 segment parsing for the media player.
  • Optimized thumbnail caching and added a 'Thumbnail quality' option to the View Mode > Options...
  • Disabled the 'App remnant' removal feature to safeguard against unintentional data loss. This change was made because users were deleting their valuable files by not reviewing the items marked for removal.
  • Added a 'Cast' option to the action menu for audio and video files, with initial support for Chromecast. This feature operates independently of Google Play Services.
  • Added support for standard server ports (SMB: 445, FTP: 21/990, SFTP: 22, HTTP(S): 80/443) for rooted devices.
  • Removed forward/backward buttons from the video player.
  • Added support for double-tapping the center of the media player to toggle play/pause.
  • Added a checkerboard background for images with an alpha channel.
  • Added DLNA as a casting option alongside Chromecast.
  • Improved DLNA Server to also act as a renderer, allowing other devices to cast media to your device.
  • Added support for TLSv1.3 on older devices, now compatible with API 16 (Jelly Bean) and above.
  • Dropped support for Android 2.2 (Froyo, API 8), setting the new minimum to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
  • Includes various other improvements and general bug fixes.
