The dashboard UI shows up when you interact with a factory controller block. This displays a virtual 2D board to place factory gauges (and other components) on.

UI Overview

❶ Title bar

Shows the name of this factory controller. Name can be edited by clicking on it.

❷ Help button

Opens this help page.

❸ Network selector

All networks tuned to by components placed in this controller are listed here. Scroll to select a network to highlight its components, or tune the currently held gauge. More Info

❹ Capacity indicator

Shows the maximum number of components that may be placed in this factory controller, as well as how much of this capacity has been taken up.
The capacity may be modified by the "Controller Capacity" server setting.

❺ Zoom indicator

Shows the current zoom level.

❻ Settings button

Opens the settings screen.

❼ Player inventory

Shows the player inventory. Only the 9 hotbar slots are shown by default, click the "+" button to expand the other 27 slots.

Navigation

Drag with the left mouse button to pan the view into the virtual board. The W, A, S, D keys can also be used to move the view in cardinal directions.

Scroll with the mouse wheel to zoom in/out.

Working with Components

To place a component, grab a corresponding item from the inventory, and click on an empty spot on the board. The Components page lists all items that may be placed. Notably, factory gauges need to tuned to a network before placing. Placed items will be stored inside the factory controller, even when the factory controller block is mined.

Holding shift and clicking on a component removes it from the controller, the item is returned to your inventory.

Both left- and right-clicking a components opens its configuration screen. To move a component, open its screen and click the 3098fed7 ed58 44ea ab4e 171fa0c579a3 "relocate" button, then click on a new location for the component.

Multiple components may be selected. Hold Ctrl and drag with left mouse button to select all components within a rectangular area. Selected components are indicated with a green outline. To add and remove individual components from the selection, hold Ctrl and left-click them.

When components are selected, drag on any of them to move all selected components. Likewise, shift-clicking on any of them removes all selected components from the board.

Creating and Modifying Connections

Components may be connected to one another, refer to a specific component’s documentation for its functionalities facilitated by connections.

To connect component A to B, click on B to open its UI, and click on the 67897b9a fbba 4289 9596 c438992862f6 "add connection" button, then click A. Some components may only act as the source or sink of a connection, in which case a valid direction is automatically chosen.

A component’s UI may allow you to remove its connections. They can also be removed using the dashboard by hovering on them and shift-clicking. When multiple connections overlap, hold shift and scroll while hovering a spot with overlapping connections to select one of them.

Connections automatically choose paths between its 2 ends. To customize this path, 4 path modes can be selected from, do so by hovering on a connection and pressing R. Bend modes of all connections on one component can be changed by pressing R on the component.

Network Selector

Factory gauges need to be tuned to a network before being placed in the controller. The first gauge need to be tuned the usual way (e.g. interacting with a stock link with a gauge in hand). Once a tuned gauge is placed in the controller, its network appears in the network selector.

With an empty cursor, scrolling with mouse wheel selects one of the tuned networks, highlighting all components tuned to that network with a blue outline. The number of components tuned to the network also appears on the network selector icon.

While holding a factory gauge item, scrolling on the network selector changes the network this item is tuned to, allowing you to quickly tune a new gauge to an existing network. Holding shift and scrolling accomplishes the same.

Additional Interactions

Some components, like the redstone link, have modes of operation that can be switched between by pressing the F key on them in the dashboard, in addition to their configuration UI.

Each factory gauge displays a label, providing relavant information (e.g. items in stock) at a glance. When they become distracting or are obstructing other components, they can be hidden by pressing Alt. Then only the label of the hovered component is displayed. Press Alt again to show them again.
