Redstone Link

Redstone links enable remote transmission and reception of redstone signals, as described in its in-game ponder. When placed in factory controllers, they may be connected with other components with redstone capabilities, allowing them to interoperate with contraptions outside the factory controller.

Operating Principle

A redstone link has 2 modes of operation:

Send

Sends the powered state of its incoming redstone connections to other redstone links of the same channel.

Receive

Receives from other redstone links of the same channel, if any of them is powered, powers its outgoing redstone connections.

Redstone links are distinguished with channels, which consists of 2 item types. Each channel carries a redstone signal independent from each other. Examples of distinct channels are:

  • (Oak Plank, Cobblestone)

  • (Oak Plank, Air)

  • (Air, Oak Plank)

  • (Air, Air)

Configuration

After placing a redstone link on the virtual board, clicking the component opens its configuration screen.

❶ ❷ Channel

Place item, or drag ghost item from JEI to set the channel of the redstone link.

❸ Relocate button

Click to move the location of this redstone link on the virtual board.

❹ Add connection button

Click to connect to other components via redstone. Directions of connections are decided automatically. Send-mode links may only have incoming connections, receive-mode links may only have outgoing connections.

❺ Mode switch

Click to switch between send and receive mode.

❻ Confirm button

Click to confirm settings and close the screen.
