this commit removes the location-based sample models. *NOTE:* the app is currently unusable see: nditech#40, nditech#43
this commit allows the participant import to work with the new sample structure

This commit addresses nditech/apollo-issues#40 and nditech/apollo-issues#43 by switching to participant-based samples instead of the current location-based samples. However, this is not backwards-compatible, so you lose your existing samples.
