Metric Camera Workbench
Steps to use:
- Take 10-20 photos of a checkerboard pattern in as many orientations as possible in the most ideal lighting possible.
- Ensure the checkerboard dimensions and w x h are set correctly (w x h is one less than the number of squares).
- Press start calibration. If successful, it will give a summary of calibration results and accuracy.
- You can save and load calibration later instead of doing calibration every time a measurement is needed to be done.
- There is a drop-down chooser at the top sidebar for choosing measurement mode.
- The mode "Measurement" is a manual mode with autodetection of the checkerboard pattern.
- The measurement mode needs reference points that lie in a plane and can only measure in the same plane.
- The mode "Metric QR" is a fully automated 3D reconstruction based on QR code.
- Metric QR can be generated given the width, unit, pointer length, etc.
- Pointer length is the distance from the top left point of the QR to a point diagonal even further left and top. It is intended to be the exact point touching the ground if the QR code is installed on a post.
- The loaded image will be detected automatically for the QR Code with the correct format and used to reconstruct its position.
