📡 Database Telemetry: Autonomous Resources

Tools Resources Prompts
OAuth Code Mode

Value Proposition Equip your AI agents with real-time database telemetry. We help you diagnose performance bottlenecks and respond to schema changes. Read the full value proposition.

⏱️ Real-Time Autonomous Telemetry

MCP clients access resources automatically. In Claude Desktop or Cursor, reference them directly:

Show me the database health status
→ Uses mysql://health resource

What tables exist in this database?
→ Uses mysql://tables resource

Check the replication lag
→ Uses mysql://replication resource

Show me any locking issues
→ Uses mysql://locks resource

🔔 Event-Driven Subscriptions

The server seamlessly integrates with the MCP resources/subscribe feature, ensuring your agents receive immediate, real-time notifications when critical data or schema changes occur.

Prominent Subscribable URIs:

  • mysql://schema: Any DDL change across the database.
  • mysql://health: Periodic health status updates.

Note

Tool executions detect changes. External changes bypassing the MCP server delay notifications.

🔍 Active vs. Passive Telemetry

  • Passive Telemetry: System-level telemetry (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) silently collects data in the background. See Observability & Telemetry.
  • Active Root Cause Analysis: mysql://insights aggregates intelligence generated by active tool use. AI agents dynamically invoke context-rich MCP Resources and Tools to perform deep-dive troubleshooting, directly addressing and resolving bottlenecks surfaced by the passive observability stack.

📊 Resource Metrics Reference

The server exposes detailed telemetry through standard MCP resources. Use the mysql_tool_index prompt (which indexes both tools and resources) or check --help for the full, current list.

Prominent Categories:

  • Database & Schema: Overview of structures and tables (e.g., mysql://schema, mysql://tables).
  • Performance & Health: Active diagnostics and query insights (e.g., mysql://health, mysql://insights, mysql://sysschema, mysql://locks).
  • Replication & Topology: Cluster and slave telemetry (e.g., mysql://replication, mysql://cluster).
