This beta includes the current NextGenScholars desktop learning experience, parent/admin profile management, local backend runtime, bundled YAML content, quizzes, dashboards, achievements, diagnostics, and binary-only desktop packaging.

Known Limitations

  • This is beta software and may contain bugs.
  • Desktop packages are the supported distribution target for this beta.
  • Updates are manual; auto-update is not enabled yet.
  • Diagnostic bundles are created locally and must be shared manually by the parent or tester.

Install Instructions

Download the correct desktop artifact, extract it, and run the included platform install script. Follow the parent quick-start guide included in the release docs.

Update Instructions

Install the new app package over the old app binary. Do not delete the NextGenScholars app-data folder unless you intentionally want to remove local profiles, settings, imported content, logs, diagnostics, and quiz progress.

Feedback Instructions

Use the in-app issue reporting and diagnostic bundle tools, then share the generated report through the beta feedback channel.

Data Preservation Statement

NextGenScholars stores local profiles, settings, imported content, logs, diagnostics, and quiz progress outside the application install folder. Installing this update should preserve local family data.
