Document files not appearing when attempting to upload

Steps to reproduce

1. Open NC app and go to upload files
2. Go into the directory where the files are held

Expected behaviour

.pdf, .docx, .xlsx, etc., should be visible

Actual behaviour

These files are not visible when going to upload a file

Since a couple of days, I have what I deem to be the same problem:

1. Open the app
2. Tap the big plus button on the bottom right in order to add a file -> "Add to Nextcloud" rolls up from the bottom
3. Select "upload files"

I only see one folder and two files (jpg and mp3) rather than the folder and 20+ files (docx, pdf, apk, gpx, etc. in addition to the other two) that are also there (as seen in practically every other app that can see the same folder).
Additionally, there is a message at the bottom of the screen "Upload option: source folder is read-only; file will only be uploaded" and a grayed out selector "Keep file in source folder" and the "Cancel" and the (until a file is selected) grayed out "Upload" button.

2. Tap the plus button followed by "Upload files"
3. Navigate to where the files are located (/storage/self/primary/Documents as an example)
4. You can only see .jpg and .mp4 files.

I had the similar issue with 3.30.6, plus
files not uploading or syncing (other than media files). Instant-uploaded photos have had their location data removed however.

I've uninstalled, and then reinstalled with f-droid and now things seem to be working again.

Hi,

I have the same error. Only photos and videos can be uploaded, auto-upload or manual upload.
It comes up from new ver 3.30.6. The old ver 3.30.5 is working fine, I could check and reproduce it with several phones and versions.

The problem is the right management in android. Nextcloud App asks in ver 3.30.6 only for permissons on photos and videos, unfortunately not for global permissons for all files. So the app don't have the rights to see other files than photos an videos (you can check the permissons in Settings > Apps > Nextcloud > Permissons). There's no way to grant access to the app by ourself, the app need to ask android for the correct permissons.

Please, fix that soon :(

Same issue here with the latest version.
When trying to upload from a folder where only PDF files are stored (what worked fine with older versions of the android app), I get "No file or folder matching your search".

Android app Version 3.31.4 has this issue.
(I might be mistaken: I am somehow under the impression, that this was taken care of and is back again).
