Nextcloud app in google play doesn't want to install

Steps to reproduce

I tried downloading the Nextcloud app from Google Play on my Lenovo 500e 2gen, and it seems like it doesn't want to install. After a second or so, it just goes back to "install" and shows an error saying the app could not be installed.

Expected behaviour

It shoudl install, right?

This device is a Chromebook, runs ChromeOS. I recently had the same issue with an ASUS CX1 Flip with the Nextcloud app either silently failing to install or throwing this:

Google support insisted this is a Nextcloud problem even though it doesn't get further than the Play Store. Given the recent problems between Google and Nextcloud this should come as no surprise.

FYI the ChromeOS Play Store installs mobile apps. I tried using the Linux Subsystem but the Nextcloud Desktop client config was not persistent (e.g. didn't even persist the login info) and I anyway found this too hacky for non-technical users so the Chromebook was returned and I switched the user to Ubuntu where everything has been working great.
