Ability to specify default time position to display in day view?

When switching to 'Day' view, Calendar displays times in the early hours of the morning. Most of my events occur after midday, so much scrolling is then required to see such events.

Describe the solution you'd like

i would find it useful to have a "Day begins at" setting, such that setting it to (say) midday would result in the midday slot appearing at the top of the page when switching to 'Day' view. Other users might find it helpful to be able to specify the beginning of their workday (e.g. 0800 or 0900) so that the start of their workday appears at the top of the page.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Initially i thought that maybe the 'Day' view should automatically display the first event of the day at the top of the page, and display midnight at the top of the page otherwise. However, the preceding is now my preferred solution.

The current default is 6am, which is a reasonable default.

Your issue seems mostly related to #577

@georgehrke You say 6am is a reasonable default - personal opinion or based on user feedback? I would love to hear input from users about this (should I do a poll on help.nextcloud.com? Or can you do one on Facebook?)
For me a reasonable default would be 8am.
Especially if you set slot duration to more than 30mins it gets annoying if start time is 6am, it means scrolling every time.

Here is an idea how to resolve the situation without introducing new settings (is it good? should I open a feature request about it?)

• on each load, the app checks for the earliest start date of events in the current view for currently visible calendars (for today/week only)
• viewport is automatically scrolled so earliest event
• if no events found: go with default 6am

Other idea throw some "AI" at it:

• the app learns when your events usually start and adjusts default viewport to one of the following: 6am, 8am, 10am

If people don't like these ideas, then I think there should be a "day starts at" setting.

is there a way to set the default time (and ideally the default span i.e. from 0700-2100 for instance)? when I open the calendar app up it starts at midnight which is a little impractical
thank you
