Update screenshots about the built-in updater

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/15/admin_manual/maintenance/update.html
2. Attempt to match this to an installation of NC14 (upgrading to NC15)

Expected behaviour

You should get the notification on your screen like the doc says OR the doc should not say it.

Also your screen should look like the screenshot (of version 10) OR the screenshot should be of a supported version.

Actual behaviour

Tell us what happens instead

The notification to upgrade does not appear, and you can not find the upgrade buttons manually using the screenshot as a guide.

I think the other info is not necessary becuase this is a bug in the doc not the code.

Could you be more precise? I'm not sure about your report. Yes the screenshots are a bit old but the process is the same. If you dont see the update for 15 now there could be another reason.

As always, you can wait for the updater to help you move to Nextcloud 15. Users on the Nextcloud 14 series will see the new version appear starting end of this week, however, note that we roll out new releases incrementally! This means that it can take several weeks before it becomes available, and if a serious issue is found during roll-out, we will delay or stop the roll-out and wait until 15.0.1 is out with fixes.

Yes the screenshots are a bit old but the process is the same.

This is two incompatible statements. The screenshot shows the screen where you can update. But that screen does not exist in the same way/place/layout on 14 that it did on 10 when the screenshot was taken. So it's not really the same process.

If you dont see the update for 15 now there could be another reason.

I agree. That's why I think this Issue belongs here, not doc. I do not see the message that 15 is available. Can you tell me things to try to debug it?

Yes the screen looks different but works similiar. If there is an update available you can press "Open updater" and start the update. A new release is not shipped to all instances at the same time. There are many different configurations out there so a new update is released in waves like Google does it for Android updates. There is nothing to worry.

This statement does not make sense. A GUI works the way it looks and looks the way it works. That's what GUI means. :)

But what you're not understanding is that the instructions do not tell me how to get to the page that you sent me a screenshot of. Please tell me how to get to this place, and please update the doc so other people know also. If docs do not completely give all information then a project is not ready to release.

Basically an update of the screenshots is needed. One thing is gone: the badge at the top, but it is replaced by a notification behind the little bell in the top right.

I don't know what you mean by the badge or notification. These things are not related to the Issue. This is not an enhancement. It's fundamental to the project. How can you not see that? Your doc does not exactly match the intstaller's experience. That means you're not even ready for beta testing.

This is a really crazy question for a document. Only the devs know the answer to this because the rest of us do not have a doc to use to upgrade to NC15. So maybe you should do the normal thing and have the devs write the process for upgrading and then have someone who is not on the team try it and see if it works. I already told you that the problem right now is that the page does not say anything that connects to the NC15 pages I see. Really a crazy question you asked. Maybe I should ask you "what important thing is not in your pocket"? So crazy.

Please be a bit more constructive. I feel quite offended with that language and that typically does not help to motivate to work on this topic. That is the first time we got this request and we got on the other hand a lot of feedback that the upgrade went just smoothly, which let's me assume, that others have found the updater without even looking at the documentation, which should be the ultimate goal.

Thus I'm asking what especially is missing for you. Is it the "where can I find the button to update, which is shown on the very first screenshot"? Something like that is what I expect and not complains about if I'm "too privileged to somehow not understand your problem", which I really try not to be. I actually like good feedback and want to make Nextcloud and it's documentation better for everyone.
