very slow Index with external storage

Hi,
I am recently using fulltextresearch with nextcloud 15.04. The installation is smoothly for the app and elasticsearch platform. However, when I try to index my files on the nextcloud server, I discover the index process is quite slow.
My nextcloud server now has about 14 users with about 1TB files in total (about one million files). Actually, the index process is slowed down due to most of my users mounted external samba storage we previously used, and the samba storage contains about one million files. When ES platform index files, the ES tries to search and index the entire external storage for each user, while the communication with the external storage is relatively slow.
I want to know whether there is a way to avoid indexing external storage? I have already toggled off the external files option in the app's configuration tab as shown in the figure below.

When unchecked, it does not really index the files, but the path to your files. Still it should not be slow.
Can you make a small video of the index process and send it to maxence@nextcloud.com ?

Do you have any progress on my issue?
The index progress is still under execution, but I think it will take more than one week to finish the indexing. I am afraid that when adding new files updating the indexing live function will never works well.

Actually, before indexing, I have already toggled the "external files" option off as shown in the attached figure. Is there anything wrong with my settings?
