Description
After update to Notes 5.0.0, the notes list is more difficult to read and fewer note titles fit in the list displayed. It appears there was a change in formatting of the list that either changed the date separator heading color or the shade of gray used reducing the contrast between the auto-generated date headings and the note titles. (I wish I would have taken a screen shot before update – but hindsight is 20/20)
Additionally there seems to be quite a bit more whitespace between the note titles causing fewer to be displayed in the vertical space available.
The result of the changes, whatever they were, make the list more difficult to read – especially for older eyes. I may be getting senile, but something changed. This is a minor formatting change, but it was significant enough to me that I thought it worth passing along.
note: the Notes list is still readable, so it’s not that I can’t read it, it’s that when running my eyes over the list it is no longer as comfortable to scan through as in the version that was just replaced.
Steps to reproduce
- Just update to Notes 5.0.0, it’s a look & feel issue, no magic steps to reproduce.
Expected behaviour
Tell us what should happen
Looking at the Notes note list, the gray auto-generated date separator headings should have sufficient color or saturation contrast with the note titles so each stand out and the list is easy to scan for the note or timeframe of interest.
Actual behaviour
(explained above) The notes list headings blend into the note titles due to lack of contrast and too much whitespace between the note titles and between the headings and titles which reduces the number of notes presented in the available vertical space.
