Try to update Nextcloud from 29.0.7 to 29.0.16, 31.0.7 to 32, 32 to 33

Steps to reproduce

Try to update Nextcloud

Expected behavior

Update to the new version

Operating system

Debian/Ubuntu

PHP engine version

PHP 8.3

Web server

Nginx

Database engine version

MariaDB

Is this bug present after an update or on a fresh install?

Updated from a MINOR version (ex. 32.0.1 to 32.0.2)

Are you using the Nextcloud Server Encryption module?

Encryption is Disabled

I can confirm.
https://updates.nextcloud.com/updater_server/ is returning HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

It's working now.
It would be better to output 'there was an error checking for updates' rather than just stating that there are no updates available.

Could you also consider allowing the user to specify a .zip (or .tar.gz) file and a corresponding .asc file, instead of fetching a server? I know we can set another update server but it would be easier to download the needed files and let the updater use them.

Haven't seen that! But it skips signature verification.. Seems too dangerous for a production server.
