Log failed logins to activity log of the affected user like failed two-factor-authentication attempts:

A login attempt using two-factor authentication failed (TOTP (Authenticator app))

What is the benefit here? A kind of audit log?

Fine by me, it's basically as bad as the 2fa attempt.
