In Talk settings we wish for a administratively choice to be able to enforce the "read status" to either "ON" or "OFF" in Nextcloud talk. When a user turn this "OFF", any message sent to that user is instantly shown as "read" (from senders point of view). Our company wish to enforce this to "ON" (no, this is not a GDPR issue), but it is not possible.
Describe the solution you'd like
A setting using OCC, or inside nextcloud.config would do fine, or a parameter button in administration settings.
Describe alternatives you've considered
For web browsers I successfully removed "share my read-status and show the read-status of others" using theming/custom CSS. However this is not good solution as users uses mobile client and/or desktop talk client etc, and I can not remove it there.
Additional context
Using OCC user:setting and listing a specified user and his/her settings I see this:
spreed:
signaling_ticket_secret: ORnGhYNoApWAUgT9VpuQgocdauA/dUowcwokQ2JSZcBUe..... snipp!
changelog: 50
typing_privacy: 1
read_status_privacy: 1
I would then try the following command to change "read_statusprivacy" from "1" to "0" for that user:
sudo -u www-data php /var/www/nextcloud/occ user:setting "user" read_status_privacy: 0
But in stead of changing the current value it create a new read_status_privacy: 0 for that user in. the bottowm of the listed settings. The new one has no function :-/
