Rigwright v0.1.29
What's Changed
Fixed
- Make
SHfilter-width set and answer layouts model-owned. FT-991A uses
one fixed selector before the two-digit width index (SH001;for index 1);
FT-710, FTDX10, and FTDX101D/MP retain their additional reserved field
(SH0001;). Correct FT-991A readback to acceptSH012;for index 12. - Validate the profiled selector/reserved prefix when decoding width answers.
Tests and evidence
- Check exact read/write frames for all five modern Yaesu models, malformed
FT-991A answers, and frequency polling after a width read. Command layouts
were checked against the official CAT manuals. - Investigated a QSONaut 0.4.0 report where FT-991A CAT polling failed after
applying an FT8 preset. The malformed write is confirmed in software;
physical-radio confirmation of the full timeout sequence remains pending. - This release corrects CAT framing. Application preset bandwidth selection
and model/mode-specific bandwidth tables need a separate audit; width index
1 is not a universal digital-mode bandwidth preset.

What's Changed
Added
- Add independent CI-V profiles for IC-756PRO, IC-756PROII, and IC-756PROIII,
including their documented addresses, legacy mode commands, tuning steps,
frequency ranges, controls, and model-specific meter surfaces. - Add searchable Markdown extractions of all three instruction manuals and
record their source PDFs, page counts, extraction tool, and the IC-756PROII
hardware-validation target. - Add separate Yaesu FT-1000 and FT-1000D legacy CAT profiles under the
profile-ownedsrc/yaesu/ft1000/package, including documented 8N2/4800
serial settings, five-byte commands, status-update decoding, split, mode,
frequency, and PTT support. - Add the interactive
probe_wizardexample for serial-device selection,
bounded read-only identification, explicit model override, and opt-in
minimum-power PTT validation with de-key and RF-power restoration. - Expand
probe_wizardwith a file-backed HAL diagnostic that records
advertised controls, meters, optional surfaces, timings, PASS/FAIL/SKIP
results, and driver error details; safe same-value write round-trips are
available only through explicit--exercise-writes. - Improve CI-V discovery by scanning documented model addresses and baud
rates, retaining the detected endpoint, and rejecting responses that do not
contain both a parsed frequency and mode. - Make diagnostic optional-surface results mode-aware for the IC-7300, so
documented Data-mode limitations and unimplemented HAL methods are reported
as skips instead of misleading driver failures.
Deliberate limitations
- The profiles are framework support; physical IC-756PROII validation remains
pending and no hardware-validation claim is made yet. - FT-1000/FT-1000D support is framework-level pending physical validation;
Digimode 4 is an external serial/level interface and is not modeled as a
separate radio protocol.

What's Changed
Release readiness
- Raise the aggregate executable-line coverage gate to 90% and promote the
Icom CI-V, Kenwood CAT, and covered profile gates to 90%. - Add manual-backed regression coverage for native Icom CI-V, Kenwood CAT,
and model-profile command behavior.
Tests
- Expand
RadioSessionpublic-trait forwarding coverage for scope, repeater,
RIT/XIT, memory, DTMF, tuner, raw protocol, meters, and capability-gated
operations. - Make probe-log temporary-file fixtures safe under parallel test and coverage
execution. - Add an aggregate 87% CI coverage floor with a documented 90%+ project target,
and refresh the README coverage snapshot.

Added
- Publish a profile-generated support/evidence contract with JSON and
release-preparation Markdown output, explicitly separating cataloged,
software-tested, and hardware-tested status. - Add sanitized probe-report output for shareable diagnostics and document the
release-preparation workflow for refreshing the generated support matrix.
Removed
- Remove the obsolete
AsciiCatRadiocompatibility driver and its
AsciiCatFlavorselector. Use the model-awareYaesuCatRadioor
KenwoodCatRadiodrivers (oropen_model) instead; the shared
protocol::ascii_catframing module remains available to those native
drivers.
Fixed
- Preserve structured
RadioSession/HAL errors through asyncRadiomethods;
callers can now downcastanyhowfailures toHalError/SessionError
instead of parsing error strings. - Bound radio and session event subscriber queues, coalescing or evicting
telemetry before critical session events and exposing dropped-event counts. - Bound pending Icom CI-V response data to 4096 bytes, resynchronize after
noisy oversized input, and expose pending-buffer overflow metrics. - Make the PTT safety watchdog fail safe: emergency PTT-off now retries a
bounded number of times, preserves an active PTT observation when shutdown
cannot be confirmed, entersDegraded, and emits a distinct failure event. - Expose Icom USB/native connection baud choices to clients. Models such as
the IC-7300 now offer 38,400, 57,600, and 115,200 baud without changing the
narrower physical REMOTE/CI-V port metadata. - Preserve write-only power switching in the model capability metadata so
QSONaut can send the documented CI-V power command for Icom radios.

Rigwright v0.1.22
Added
- Complete profile-owned capability and meter metadata for Yaesu, Kenwood,
and Elecraft radios, keeping shared protocol engines model-agnostic. - Add profile-driven Elecraft support for K2, KX2, KX3, K3, K3S, K4, and KH1,
including model-specific tuning, options, notch, memory, and control rules. - Add manual-backed Kenwood memory codecs, model-specific memory selection,
and conservative generic-profile behavior for unsupported features. - Add release coverage tests for Icom scope configuration and USB discovery,
Elecraft profile boundaries, and the generic HAL contract.
Fixed
- Keep configured-radio startup probing inside the driver boundary, using
model verification for modern Yaesu CAT radios whose optional VFO-selector
query may be rejected even when CAT is healthy. - Move vendor and model quirks out of generic drivers and into explicit radio
profiles, preventing unsupported capabilities from being advertised
