You should change the IO Type first (Input/Output/Disable), THEN Save, THEN come back and make changes to the Invert and Boot State settings.
YouTube videos are available that demonstrate the re-programmed module and show how to do the programming. The Browser GUI has evolved quickly so these videos are a little out of date but should still be useful.
