What is the current state of HDR?

I am thinking of switching to Niri from Hyprland, as I really enjoy the scrolling concept. I am using Hyprscrolling, but it's not as smooth and nice as Niri.

I have an HDR monitor, and it would be sad losing support for that. How far along is HDR support on Niri as of now? And what are the current plans?

That's too bad, can running things through gamescope provide HDR, or does it have to be implemented in the compositor?

If you run Gamescope as a nested session, the compositor will need to support HDR to for it to work.

If you still want to try Niri, another option is to run Gamescope as a standalone session.
