Consolidated overview

When I zoom into the overview, i would like to be able to see multi monitors alongside each other in a single view.

I want to be able to zoom out and expose any additional monitors on a single screen overview as per the above image

Monitors in niri are separate because the workspaces can be infinitely long and windows shouldn't overflow onto the next monitor. In your example scrolling the top left workspace or the top right one will already overflow some windows.

My apologies this was supposed to be an idea capture in my fork, not sure how I posted it to niri-wm/niri.

It's a very very basic capture with zero thought in it yet. A reminder for me to visit it because I have been playing with output isolation and this is something that struck me as useful in that situation

Mystery solved haha PEBCAK.
I only enabled issues on my fork today and it is using the niri defailt ISSUE_TEMPLATE/config.yaml which (as it should) routed a new feature request to the niri repo discussions...

I still have some ideas I want to explore so won't delete the discussion :)

So this is a first pass step one. Creating multiple outputs as a background half zoom carousel.

There is a lot of refinement to be done around viewability, like dimming background output views, handling the switch between the outputs better and more. But as an experimental first step I think this has legs
