A problem in using kcorrect

Actually i am facing a problem in using kcorrect code as shown on examples .rst .
Succeeded in importing kcorrect module ,but unfortunately the module failed to import other functions like templates and filters.
Igot the following massage

how and where do you install kcorrect_python?
you may have to point PYTHONHOME / PYTHONPATH to the directory you have installed kcorrect_python if you have installed it in a non standard location.

i installed kcorrect on media folder in ubuntu because when tried to install it on /usr/local the file libkcorrect.so did not be created
for running kcorrect i entered the path where kcorrect dir is present and import kcorrect and when trying to import templates() it gives me the same error

you don't have to run kcorrect_python in KCORRECT_DIR but have to add to your sys.path the directory where you have put your kcorrect_python. usually, you run

python3 setup.py install --home=/some/directory

and that's it. if there is still error, try adding /some/directory to PYTHONHOME, ie

export PYTHONHOME=/some/directory

or add /some/directory in your sys.path before importing kcorrect_python, ie

import sys sys.path.append('/some/directory') import kcorrect

i followed your steps and got the following

1- by writing python3 setup.py install --home=/some/directory i got

2- by writing export PYTHONHOME=/some/directory followed by taping python 3 to enter python i got

so, first of all, have you already installed the kcorrect C library? kcorrect_python is a wrapper of the C library, you need to install it first, see:

second, you get this error:

can't open file 'setup.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

by retrieving the github repo, downloading the source from github or from pypi, then extract or unziiping it you should have this file. otherwise, there is no chance you can get kcorrect_python running!

you run :

python3 setup.py install

from the directory where you extract it. the file setupy.py is there.

to summary:

• go to : http://kcorrect.org/
• register yourself (see the email address at the 'obtain the software' section)
• download the tarball : kcorrect.v4_3.tar.gz
• extract it to a directory where you have permission to write,
  for example : /media/nouran/jihad/phd/datawork/sample/kcorrect
• set the environment variables:
  KCORRECT_DIR=/media/nouran/jihad/phd/datawork/sample/kcorrect
  PATH=$KCORRECT_DIR/bin:$PATH
  LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$KCORRECT_DIR/lib
  export KCORRECT_DIR
  export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  export PATH
• in $KCORRECT_DIR, run: kevilmake -k
  this should compile libkcorrect.so in $KCORRECT_DIR/lib
  AND CAUTION: the kcorrect.py you found in $KCORRECT_DIR/lib IS NOT the kcorrect_python module.
  the error AttributeError: module 'kcorrect' has no attribute 'load_templates' is expected if you import the kcorrect module from $KCORRECT_DIR/lib
• download the kcorrect_python tarball kcorrect_python-2017.07.05.tar.gz from pypi: https://pypi.org/project/kcorrect_python/#files
• or clone this github repo: https://github.com/nirinA/kcorrect_python.git
• cd to the directory where you extract the tarball or clone the repo
• inside this directory, where setup.py should be present, run for example
  python3 setup.py install --home=/media/nouran/jihad/phd/datawork/sample
  this should compile and install kcorrect_python into "/media/nouran/jihad/phd/datawork/sample/lib64/python".
  if you run ls -l /media/nouran/jihad/phd/datawork/sample/lib64/python
  you will have something like:

   _kcorrect.cpython-310-x86_64-linux-gnu.so*
   _ztransform.cpython-310-x86_64-linux-gnu.so*
   kcorrect/
   kcorrect_python-2017.07.05-py3.10.egg-info

lastly, the error:
Fatal Python error: init_fs_encoding: failed to get the Python codec of the filesystem encoding Python runtime state: core initialized ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'encodings'
indicates that your python installation is somewhat broken. i recommend you to install a newest version from https://www.python.org/
