nextstep - The WAR ROOM

A calling card for the next chapter of my career. Built with Larry in a single session.

Live at: https://nixfred.com/nextstep/

The Story of This Site

This site was built in one conversation between Fred and Larry (his Personal AI Infrastructure). Here's how it happened:

The Request

Fred came in hot:

"I want a WAR ROOM to build my next job in my career. I want you to take nixfred.com/resume, nixfred.com/ai, nixfred.com/larry and make a nixfred.com/nextjob and use these 3 sites to explain my next job given I'm an expert in all of this. Keep the theme going like the other sites. Graphics are MANDATORY. This site will be the site that I give to very technical people when they ask me what I am doing for the rest of my career. Help me define and build this site so that job can find me. USE EVERY SOULTOOL. USE OSINT to find similar jobs. Follow all of your skills. If you find jobs like this exist, make the site a calling card to get that job."

The Questions Larry Asked

Larry didn't just start building. He asked questions first:

Question 1: What's your IDEAL job title?

  • Options: AI Infrastructure Architect, Personal AI Engineer, AI Practice Lead, Founding AI Engineer
  • Fred's answer: "I'm willing to do any of those where I can make the biggest impact."

Question 2: What's your target employer type?

  • Options: Enterprise (Fortune 500), AI-native startup, Consulting/Services, Build my own thing
  • Fred's answer: "I have the idea and the forward thinking to meet AI as it is invented and want to get closer to the source. I want to go where I can make real money (not a vibe on the site!!!) and make real impact and upgrade peoples minds."

Question 3: What's your PRIMARY selling point?

  • Options: Larry/PAI exists, Enterprise + AI bridge, 100k+ sessions, Air-gapped/sovereign AI
  • Fred's answer: "Add all that together including the SOULTOOLs...name each one. Give real open source respect and credit to those that deserve it with my gratitude. Daniel especially. He gets a cool shrine at the bottom for special thanks. Also a PS to Thomas Dodd and Monolith. I'm driving forward. I know I don't know it all but I do know this and I know that I keep looking at those webpages and feel like there is 50% above me and 100% beside me that I don't understand yet but I'm going to fix that. 1000% confidence with humility."

Question 4: What salary/compensation range?

  • Fred's answer: "Don't specify any money or equity but the way you say that is make it clear that I want real hardware and real funding and real resources and team to do it. That could come from almost any source so this is not a money play. The site will show my worth."

Question 5: What SOULTOOLs to highlight?

  • Fred's answer: "All of them"

Question 6: What's the call to action?

  • Fred's answer: "All of the above" (email, LinkedIn, GitHub)

Question 7: How to frame current situation?

  • Fred's answer: "Building in public"

What Larry Built

With those answers, Larry:

  1. Analyzed the existing sites - Fetched nixfred.com/resume, /ai, and /larry to understand the visual theme (neon dark mode, Orbitron headers, cyan/magenta/green palette)

  2. Inventoried all SOULTOOLs - Searched the entire PAI infrastructure to document all 9 components:

    • PF (pi_forever) - Git total recall
    • PAI - Personal AI Infrastructure (skills, hooks, memory)
    • CCF - Claude Code Forever (conversation preservation)
    • MCP - Model Context Protocol servers
    • CR - Claude Router (intelligent routing)
    • LoA - Library of Alexandria (session preservation)
    • Voice - ElevenLabs TTS notifications
    • Observability - Real-time monitoring dashboard
    • Shell - Bash automation and hooks
  3. Researched the landscape - Launched parallel agents to:

    • Find similar job roles in the market
    • Research the Personal AI Infrastructure space
    • Identify who else is building in this domain
  4. Built the site - Created a complete HTML page matching the existing theme:

    • Hero with "BUILDING IN PUBLIC" badge
    • Philosophy quote: "I know I don't know it all. But I know THIS - and I'm going to fix the rest."
    • Complete SOULTOOLs breakdown with the formula
    • Daniel Miessler shrine with gold accents
    • PS section for Thomas Dodd and Monolith
    • All contact methods
  5. Deployed to GitHub - Created private repo, enabled GitHub Pages
