Command+Tab gets stuck when mapped to mouse side button

Hi,

I mapped a mouse side button to Command+Tab in Mac Mouse Fix.

When I click the button, the macOS app switcher often stays open, as if Command is still being held down.

Could you add an option to send the shortcut as a quick tap and automatically release all modifier keys?

For example:
press Command → press Tab → release Tab → release Command

This would make mouse side button app switching much more reliable.

Thanks for reporting this. The intended behavior for a keyboard-shortcut action is already essentially:

press modifiers → press key → release key → release modifiers

So if Command remains “stuck”, that looks like either Mac Mouse Fix is missing/suppressing the modifier-up event in some edge case, or macOS is interpreting the sequence differently for the app switcher.

Adding an explicit “tap shortcut / release all modifiers after action” option could make sense, especially for Command+Tab on mouse buttons. I’ll keep this in mind as a possible improvement.

In the meantime, could you share your macOS version, Mac Mouse Fix version, and whether this happens with the same button mapped to a different shortcut using Command? That would help narrow down whether this is specific to Command+Tab or modifier release handling in general.
