By default, Node.js sets memory limit near 1.5 GB. Try to increase it by this key (this example sets 2 GB):

node --max_old_space_size=2048 script.js

If you're using that much memory and GC can't help, it typically means something is wrong in your code or you're going about something in the wrong way.

I'll close pending further information, I don't see anything here that indicates a bug in node.js itself.
