This is an experimental release.

Future plans

  • Implement force option, which will make some effort to shutdown obs without confirmation such as that while recording and streaming.
  • Implement a dialog box to notice the user OBS will be terminated, maybe with cancel button with countdown.

Limitations

  • Only tested on these platforms
    • Windows: 0.1.0 was tested with OBS 29.1
    • Ubuntu 22.04: 0.1.0 was tested with OBS 29.1
    • macOS: Not tested yet.

Install

OBS Studio 28 or later

Download obs-shutdown-plugin-0.1.0-obs28-Windows.zip and extract to your OBS Studio installed directory.
See install instruction for detailed steps.

macOS

OBS Studio 28 or later

Download installer obs-shutdown-plugin-0.1.0-obs28-macos-universal.pkg and run installer.
Or, download zip package obs-shutdown-plugin-0.1.0-obs28-macos-universal.zip and follow this guide to extract.

Ubuntu

OBS Studio 28 or later on Ubuntu 22.04 or later

Download package obs-shutdown-plugin-0.1.0-obs28-ubuntu-22.04-x86_64.deb and install with a command below.
sudo apt install ./obs-shutdown-plugin-0.1.0-obs28-ubuntu-22.04-x86_64.deb
