Node.js packages not updating

This issue concerns the application of "Node.js" in another app. Having logged the issue over there first, I was eventually redirected over here to report the error. I confess upfront that I am completely inexperienced of Node.js. Someone else installed it for me remotely.

@touwys based on logs from the linked issue.. it looks like network related issue or permissions issue from the windows.
Check if https://registry.npmjs.org/@ghostery%2fadblocker this url can be opened in your system if not then might want to check firewall related settings.

This doesn't look like bug related to npm and could be related to system/network configuration.

The firewall connection log do not to reflect a blocked element — in name, is there anything in particular I should watch out for when checking these logs? Similarly, how do I establish the name of the file that may need extra (admin) permissions, and is it safe to allow these permissions?

In addition, what does the following screenshot mean? Should I repeat the run command:

Based on the error log I could seeEACCESS when fetching data from https://registry.npmjs.org/@ghostery%2fadblocker so it could be related to network

You might get responses from the users who have faced similer issues before

this is the correct syntax --production was used earlier but now you should use --omit=dev and you can add -ddd flag for additional logs

I apologise for the tardy response, Thank you very much for your continued assistance, but I am totally out of my depth here, for instance not grasping the terminology and relationships between npm and node.js, etc.

Can you please explain what is the relevance of this URL getting opened in the browser, or not, to the relevant package not updating? What should I be looking out for, and what does either one of a positive or negative result indicate? (Note: the provided URL does indeed open in the browser)

Do you mean that I should replace the original command that was:

`C:\Portable\RSS Guard\data4\node\npm.cmd" install --production @ghostery/adblocker'

to install @ghostery%2fadblocker "with this command:

`C:\Portable\RSS Guard\data4\node\npm.cmd" install --omit=dev -ddd @ghostery/adblocker'
