Date input value gets clipped

Describe the bug

When viewing download stats for a package the date inputs in the filter can end up with values clipped in chrome android. These seems borderline like a chrome bug but I'd need to investigate more to know exactly what's happened.

It looks like there isn't a right side calendar icon like there is on desktop

That can be hidden on desktop chrome using ::-webkit-calendar-picker-indicator. Android chrome is a bit odd, it normally shows a down arrow instead of a calendar (not really sure why) and it's structure is a bit different. There will be a way to remove that space though.

Do you think it's worth targeting this, or just using appearance none? We're already adding our own calendar icon to the left side

appearance: none is probably the best bet.

I have observed that the icon on the right side isn't there on my iphone XR, too. Is it intentionally done for mobile viewing?
