Infinte Scroll on Mobile Search Screen #8

Description

Found a sufficiently weird edge case to report. Using an actual mobile device search for a term that is vague enough to generate thousands of hits and attempt to scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll be greeted with a loading spinner and "Loading more..." until you exhaust the list of possibles.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. On a mobile device, navigate to the home page
  2. Type in a search term that is non-specific enough to generate thousands of hits (link, connect, bridge, etc.).
  3. Attempt to rapidly scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the suspense boundary
  4. Repeat this for as long as you like until exhaustion

Expected Behavior vs Actual Behavior

I would expect to be able to reach the bottom of the page and not get caught in what is effectively an infinite scrolling loop.

Environment

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S23+
  • OS: Android v16
  • Browser/Version: Vivaldi Mobile v7.7

Additional Information

  • I was only able to recreate this bug when using the search field on the home page, subsequent inputs didn't trigger the infinite loop and I could reach the bottom of the page.
  • I was unable to recreate this experience using the browser emulators on either of the Vivaldi or Zen desktop versions.
