ASE 2025 Camera-Ready Artifact

This release provides the artifact for our ASE 2025 paper, "LLM-Powered Fully Automated Chaos Engineering: Towards Enabling Anyone to Build Resilient Software Systems at Low Cost." (preprint available on arXiv)
If you are interested in reproducing the results of this paper, please check the corresponding section in README.md.

The current version of ChaosEater supports:

• Input of K8s manifests with a Skaffold configuration file
• Automated hypothesis generation based on system state observed via k6 and the K8s API
• Automated fault injection using Chaos Mesh
• Automated modification of K8s manifests
• User feedback at each phase of the workflow (simple, experimental interactive mode)
• GUI operations
• Local LLMs (Ollama)

We will keep improving ChaosEater to make it production-ready, so please stay tuned for future updates!
Upcoming features include:

• Integration with coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode) for flexible inputs and code modifications
• Additional CE/monitoring tools, such as Chaos Monkey, Chaos Toolkit, LitmusChaos, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.
• Expansion of modification targets beyond K8s manifests to include Terraform and higher-level application code (e.g., Python scripts)
• Sophisticated interactive mode, such as approval, review, and rollback capabilities
• CLI operations for integration with external agent-based systems
• and more!
