Speed and Lights

You can increase the speed of the simulation with p and decrease it with o. The speeds are:

  • Pause (time is halted)
  • Slow Motion (the see how the faster narjillos are moving)
  • Real Time (the default)
  • High Speed (as fast as your computer can go)

If you want to go even faster, you can switch the lights with l. With the lights off, the program doesn't have to render the dish, so it generally runs faster. (However, this is still much slower than running the program without any graphics - so if you want real speed, then exit the program and restart it with the --fast argument).

Infrared

If you want to see the creatures' shapes more clearly, toggle Infrared Mode by pressing i. It renders the creatures as simple and stark shapes without color.

Demo Mode

Press Ctrl+D to toggle Demo Mode. It's good when you just want to lay back and do some narjillo-watching: it selects a creature (or egg) at random, and it switches to a new one every few seconds.

Tracking

Double-click on a creature (or any other item) to lock on it. The view will track the creature as it moves. Move around to release the lock.
