Why are Privateauras only enabled for certain Units?

I just Tanked the new Midnight Raid.
Since I need to see Privateauras on my Co-Tank for Taunt-Timing my Idea was to just set them as Focus Target.
In Testing bevorehand I realized that the current Privateauras Element does not work on the Focus Unit because of this Code Snippet:

	if(self.unit ~= 'player' and not self.unit:match('raid%d?$') and not self.unit:match('party%d?$')) then
		Disable(self)

		return false
	end

Since I could find no reason for it beeing there I removed it on my installed Version of oUF and it worked like a charm.
No Lua Errors and visible Privateaura Tracking on my Focus Frame on every Bossfight.

So my Question is:

Is there a reason for this Code-Snippet?
If yes: could someone tell me what it is?
If no: can it be removed? Or at least can the focus Unit be added to the List?

They're enabled on those units only because oUF's mantra is to replicate what Blizzard does (for the most part) just in a way that is easier for developers to work with and customize. Blizzard enables PAs only for player and group units, so that's what oUF does, mostly because I wasn't aware it could be used on other units so it was added as a safeguard to prevent errors.
