Hi @stepperpig ! LGTM! I think this greatly simplifies what can be a complex topic, making it easier to understand.

Great work on this @stepperpig !!
I know there was a lot of effort done in the background to test and verify the correct configuration and workflow to figure out the discrepancies in the newer versions, so I just wanted to acknowledge that here 😊 I had super small nitpicks for you to consider and after that, this PR is ready to merge!

This PR rewrites the basic subcontracting workflow doc. It removes reduplicated and redundant information, corrects the process for configuring/initializing basic subcontracting, and merges content from a soon-to-be-axed doc page.
