Focused Mode (Default) - 19 Essential Tools

Unified Tools

  • GetSource: Single tool replaces 7 granular read operations (GetProgram, GetClass, GetInterface, GetFunction, GetFunctionGroup, GetInclude, GetClassInclude)
  • WriteSource: Single tool replaces 4 write operations with auto-upsert (WriteProgram, WriteClass, CreateAndActivateProgram, CreateClassWithTests)
  • GrepObjects: Multi-object regex search (array of object URLs)
  • GrepPackages: Multi-package search with recursive subpackage support - enables namespace-wide searches (e.g., all Z* packages)

Clearer Naming

  • ImportFromFile (File → SAP): Renamed from DeployFromFile for clarity
  • ExportToFile (SAP → File): Renamed from SaveToFile for clarity

Expert Mode - Full Access

  • All 45 tools available with --mode=expert
  • Maintains backward compatibility for existing workflows
  • Includes all atomic operations and granular tools

To adopt focused mode (recommended):

  • Replace GetProgram/GetClass/etc → GetSource(type, name)
  • Replace WriteProgram/WriteClass/etc → WriteSource(type, name, source, mode)
  • Replace GrepObject → GrepObjects([objectURLs])
  • Replace GrepPackage → GrepPackages([packages], include_subpackages)
  • Replace DeployFromFile → ImportFromFile
  • Replace SaveToFile → ExportToFile
