Updating JQuery to 3.5.0 or greater #124

Dear OLab community,
Our IT department have contacted me to inform us that the version of JQuery in our OLab build needs to be updated, as it is outdated and exposed to cross site scripting vulnerabilities. We are currently on 1.7.2 (the build included in OLab's most recent repo is 1.8.2), and to resolve the security issues we need to move to 3.5.0 or greater.
Has anybody else in the community faced this and had to update before? Can you advise whether this broke any dependencies that we need to be aware of?
We will investigate https://github.com/jquery/jquery-migrate to help, but any prior experience that anyone has would be gratefully received,
