Lossless cut without reencoding?

I wonder if we could use this as a lossless editor. Just like with ffmpeg you can cut without reencoding.

This would also will work better with a UI that shows codec keyframes so you could choose where to cut, and the video strips would snap to those.
Another option would be an hybrid workflow, where you could disable snapping, so you could have some clips to be cut in this fast way and, I guess as few as possible, thought this depends on how much nitpicking you would like to have, would had to be reencoded.

This would allow editing hour long videos that don't require very precise cuts like security camera footage, interviews, matches. It would make editing on low end and battery powered devices a breeze.

My current workflow is opening videos on MPV having a script that when you hit C for in and out points cuts the video and so far I use that for single dumb videos. I do this when I download something and post on my personal social media, but I think this could be used for other posts I edit to other people's social media, where I combine a few more videos and put some music on top.
