Dual Booting with Omarchy Mac

When you install Asahi Alarm, it creates a partition in your SSD and installs Arch Linux ARM64 into the partition.

That's how you get to run Omarchy Mac without losing MacOS or any data on it.

1. How to switch between Omarchy Mac and MacOS?

• Shut down Omarchy Mac

• Wait for 10 seconds

• Long press the power button until the screen says Loading startup options

• You'll see three options on the screen:

  • Macintosh HD
  • Asahi Alarm (or whatever name you picked during installation)
  • Options (for recovery options)

• Choose Macintosh HD to go to MacOS

• To come back to Omarchy Mac, just reboot from MacOS

Asahi Alarm installer sets your default startup disk as Asahi Alarm, so every time you boot up, you'll automatically boot into it.

2. How to change your default Startup Disk?

• Boot into MacOS as instructed above
• Open Spotlight (Cmd + Space)
• Type Startup Disk and hit return/enter
• System Settings will open up, choose Macintosh HD, enter your Mac password and it's changed.
• Now every time you reboot, you'll boot into MacOS.

Great, thanks for the appreciated, I was looking for this. Is there any boot manager that we can install now that is compatible or not yet? I'm running a Mac 2021 M1.
