Wi-Fi adapter not recognized or configurable in Omarchy 3.1 (worked partially in 3.0)

What do you need?

I’m experiencing a Wi-Fi connectivity issue in Omarchy 3.1. My PC’s built-in Wi-Fi doesn’t function unless I use an external USB Wi-Fi antenna/adapter. On other operating systems such as Windows, Ubuntu, and Fedora, I can choose between the internal Wi-Fi and the external adapter directly from the Wi-Fi settings.

However, in Omarchy 3.1, this option no longer appears. The system only shows one non-functional Wi-Fi interface. In Omarchy 3.0, the external antenna was somehow working automatically without me having to select it — when I unplugged it, the Wi-Fi stopped working, meaning it was being used by default. Now in Omarchy 3.1, it does not connect at all, even when the antenna is plugged in.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Boot into Omarchy 3.1.
2. Plug in an external USB Wi-Fi antenna/adapter.
3. Open Wi-Fi settings.
4. Notice that there’s no option to select or switch between Wi-Fi adapters.
5. Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network — the connection fails or never establishes.

Expected Behavior:

Omarchy should detect all available Wi-Fi adapters (both internal and external) and allow the user to select which one to use for the connection, as other systems do.

Actual Behavior:

Only a single Wi-Fi interface appears, and Wi-Fi fails to connect. The external USB adapter that previously worked automatically in Omarchy 3.0 no longer functions in version 3.1.

Additional Notes:

It would be helpful if future versions included improved Wi-Fi driver and adapter support or a setting to manually choose which network interface to use.

Couple of questions for you, and I'm assuming you have tried the first one:

1. Did you install the driver for the Wi-Fi card that is in your computer? If not, you'll need to identify which one it is and install that driver. You'll need a USB to download it from another computer and/ or a wired connection, assuming you have these things.

2. This question will mostly become irrelevant if number one works, but what is the make of your Wi-Fi adaptor, and more importantly, does it have the Realtek chip in it? If so, Realtek is notoriously unreliable for Linux.

I had a similar issue where the network configuration was disabled, I was not able to select a network and connect to it with the omarchy network manager, had to use iwctl to connect.

my network adapter is intel Wireless-AC 3168NGW [Stone Peak] (rev 10) if that can help

How can I install the driver? I've tried copying the .ucode files from the linux-firmware kernel into /lib/firmware but it won't work. It doesn't recognize my Wi-Fi device. Though it still shows in the hardware list.
