+1 — confirming DisplayLink works fine on Omarchy 4.0.3 with the AUR packages, so this should be a small, contained addition. Setup tested
Steps that got it working sudo pacman -S --needed linux-headers dkms
yay -S evdi-dkms displaylink
sudo systemctl enable --now displaylink.serviceHyprland picks it up as Gotchas worth handling
Proposal
Would a PR along these lines be welcome? Happy to open it and would appreciate testers with DisplayLink docks (e.g. DL-6xxx), since I've only verified the Prompter. |

Yes! And you can count to me to verify with Display Link docks! |

Feature Request: Out-of-the-box DisplayLink support
Summary
Add native DisplayLink support to Omarchy so that DisplayLink devices
work out-of-the-box after a fresh installation, without requiring
manual driver installation and configuration.
Current behavior
After a fresh Omarchy installation, connecting a DisplayLink device
(tested with DisplayLink DL-DOCK6350) does not work. The device is
not detected and no display output is produced.
To make it work, the following manual steps are required:
evdikernel moduledisplaylinkdriver manuallydisplaylinksystemd service~/.config/hypr/monitors.luawith the correct monitor layoutExpected behavior
After a fresh Omarchy installation, connecting a DisplayLink device
should be automatically detected and work with Hyprland/Wayland without
any manual intervention.
Proposed solution
evdianddisplaylinkas optional dependencies duringinstallation, or detect DisplayLink devices and install drivers automatically
displaylinksystemd service by default when the hardwareis detected
multi-monitor setups with DisplayLink devices
Environment
Additional context
DisplayLink is widely used in docking stations and is a common use case
for laptop users. Adding out-of-the-box support would significantly
improve the experience for users coming from macOS or Windows where
DisplayLink works automatically.
