How can I change the default mouse cursor to Bibata Modern Classic?

I have installed bibata-cursor-theme from the AUR and would like to set Bibata Modern Classic as my default mouse cursor.

After installing the package, what is the correct way to activate the cursor theme system-wide/globaly, so that it is used by default across all applications and desktop themes?

Is there a recommended configuration or command to make the cursor setting persistent?
