The Homescreen

As a community we love the PocketCHIP, to tinker, hack with it, or simply enjoy some games on this very unique little Linux device. Nothing is more frustrating than apps that don't work, apps that are too slow, or apps that are not suitable for the hardware.

This is why we have written these guidelines for community apps so that everyone can enjoy their Pocket CHIP instead of spending hours troubleshooting just to find out that the software doesn't run very well.

The Basic Requirements

  1. The software has to run in a usable manner on the Pocket CHIP
  2. All UI elements have to be accessible as intended
  3. The software should be easy to upgrade and maintain
  4. Games should run at a reasonable frame rate

Additional Requirements

  1. Take advantage of the touchscreen or built in keyboard
  2. Offer a suitable UI for use with the input device
  3. Start within a few seconds from the launcher

Made for Pocket CHIP™

  1. Passes all previous requirements
  2. Uses the PocketCHIP specific Theme Grey (#4d4d4d) and Pink (#EB008B) where appropriate in it's UI
