Group by: "Month" behavior differs from Immich and feels inconsistent

In the app settings, under "Photo Grid" → "Group by", Immich offers:

• Month + day
• Month

With "Month" selected, Immich simply groups photos into month sections within the timeline (photos still visible, just grouped under a month header instead of day headers).

Noodle Gallery offers three options:

• Month + day
• Year
• Month

"Month + day" behaves identically to Immich. However, both "Year" and "Month" in Noodle Gallery show the exact same result: month cards that don't display the photos themselves, just the card grid.

This "month cards" view is actually a nice feature on its own, but it doesn't match the expected behavior for the "Month" option based on Immich's behavior for the same setting, I'd expect "Month" to simply group photos by month within the timeline, with the photos still visible, not switch to a completely different card-based view.

Would it make sense to make "Month" behave like Immich's grouping (photos grouped by month, still visible)?
