Embodent 2.2.0

Embodent 2.2.0 - a minor release. New since 2.1.0:

• Long-running commands survive agent restarts: agents can run long builds and test suites through the new orcha job command. Each command has a fixed time limit, its progress and result are saved, and if the agent's session ends mid-run, the next session picks up the saved result instead of running the command again. Messages you send to the task while a command runs reach the agent and are tracked until it deals with them.
• Tasks wake when a command finishes: when a supervised command finishes, Orcha wakes its task so the agent can use the result, with no need for the agent to keep checking or for you to nudge it.
• Workflows keep going on their own: if a workflow step's agent stops cleanly while approved work is still unfinished, Orcha now continues that work automatically (up to three times in a row) instead of waiting for a nudge. Recorded waits, holds, review handoffs and human verification are still respected; if the limit is reached, you get one notice and a question instead of silence.
• New database tables for saved command results are added automatically on upgrade. Nothing changes in the app's screens.

Embodent 2.1.0 - a minor release. New since 2.0.0:

• Feedback loops in Workflows: a step can report an outcome (for example "approved" or "changes requested"), and each outcome decides what happens next: continue, branch to another step, send the work back to an earlier step for another round, end the loop, stop, or ask you to decide. A group of steps can repeat until its review step approves, with a limit on rounds and a stall check. The workflow page shows each loop's round, why a step is running, what it received this round, the review history, and a Needs-you bar when a loop is waiting on you. Existing workflows keep behaving exactly as before.
• Run again: a completed workflow can be copied into a new editable draft in the same project. You review the setup and press Start yourself; the original workflow and its history stay unchanged.
• Holds and messages: a task on hold is now labelled On hold from its workflow as well as the task list, and the portal says whether a message you send to it will reach the agent now or wait until the hold lifts.
• Review loop fixes: review handoffs inside a loop route correctly and stay in their round, and accepted steps keep their Accepted label while a paused loop waits on you.
• Updated app libraries.

Embodent 2.0.0 - the first major release. New since 1.2.1:

• Workflows: define a multi-step process, assign each step to an agent or a person, and track it from start to finish.
• Per-task autonomy: each task can be set so agents need your approval for their plan and result, or can approve their own. New tasks start with approval required, and only the project owner can change it.
• Approval and notification fixes: a coordinator's brief no longer shows up as a child task's plan, duplicate alerts are merged, and cancelling a task sends one clear stop message.
• Fixes so workflow turns no longer get stuck after the app restarts.
• Updated app libraries.

Orcha v1.2.1

Orcha v1.2.1 — a minor release (1.1.1 → 1.2.1). Source release: tag and notes only, no binaries attached.

This is the first desktop-line release since v1.1.1 (June 2026). It covers everything merged to main up to commit c4d1d5c, and the desktop app version in the tree is 1.2.1.

Highlights

• Runs without Docker or Postgres (GH #258). A project's portal, database and agents now run as plain host processes on a local SQLite database. Existing Docker projects keep running untouched; the Docker-local runtime is deprecated.
• Agents always work in their own worktree, plus a human-triggered bring agent changes into main / update a worktree from main action with a dry run first (GH #288).
• Failed automatic runs back off and pause. They wait 30 then 60 seconds before retrying, pause after three failures and raise one "Needs you" request with the real provider error. A human can resume from the pause notice once the cause is fixed.
• The product is now called Embodent (formerly Quorate) in the portal and desktop app.
• Portal frontend rewritten in React 18 + TypeScript + Vite, with a new Metrics page, a GitHub-aware project dashboard and per-device pairing tokens for the iOS app.
• Claude model catalog refreshed to the current generation.
• Many worker-wake, notifier and worktree reliability fixes; see CHANGELOG.md for the full list.

Version choice

Minor, not major: the code at this tag is already versioned 1.2.1 (desktop/package.json), and existing Docker projects continue to work, so no 2.0 break is declared.

• No downloads are attached to this release. The public desktop downloads remain on v1.1.1 (Docker-based, universal).
• This tag is in the desktop v* namespace; it does not trigger the CLI publish workflow (cli-v*). The latest CLI release is still cli-v0.5.0.

• Per-agent reasoning effort: pick an effort level (low → xhigh) alongside an
  agent's model, and its workers launch with it (Orcha#51).
• Autonomy and the Event-notifier are now separate, independently toggled
  controls in the web portal and the Android and iOS apps (Orcha#148).
• Agents can schedule a task-scoped self-wake that restores their saved context
  when it fires (Orcha#122).
• Task links in requests, conversations, and thread messages are clickable in
  the iOS and Android apps; the desktop app reuses the existing portal window
  for same-origin task links (Orcha#140).
• Work-shaped info requests are auto-promoted into task requests, so real work

Fixed

• Worker continuity (Orcha#110): a task worker's worktree and uncommitted work
  now survive across wakes instead of restarting from origin/main.
• One wake drains all handleable notifications instead of just the first
  (Orcha#58), and a drain turn can no longer swallow the answer event that
  unblocks the agent's own task (Orcha#72).
• Task attribution: a worker session that spans multiple tasks now narrates on
  every task it touched (Orcha#144, Orcha#83), and agents' "Now" labels are
  accurate again (Orcha#125, Orcha#126).
• A claimed-but-nonexistent "task created/started" report now hard-fails loudly
  at session end instead of being narrated as success (Orcha#152).
• Orphaned notifier daemons self-terminate when their container is gone
  (Orcha#36), and switching a live agent's model recycles the warm session so
  the next reply actually uses the new model (Orcha#88).
• Portal: resolved 22 CodeQL alerts (path containment, no error-body leaks).
