"Delete All Chats" actually deletes ALL chats :P

Okey, jokes aside... I use the archive to preserve some useful conversations. The other day I wanted to get rid of my long list of irrelevant chats on the left side panel, and I did so by clicking "Delete All Chats", which also deleted the ones saved to the archive... 😞

Yeah! IT MAKES SENSE! 🤣 Because it says "all chats"!!! But... is there an option am I missing to delete just the "all non-archived" ones? 🤔

I would love it there was a button on Previous N days label to delete all of them that are in that section. Or to delete all chats EXPECT the pinned ones (pinned them for a reason).

I strongly support adding a feature to manage chat retention! As an admin, I would like to have the ability to set a maximum number of days that normal (non-pinned, non-archived) chats are kept. Ideally, this setting should be configurable in the admin panel. For example, I could specify that chats older than X days are automatically deleted unless they are pinned or archived. This would give admins greater control over data retention and help keep the system clean and organized.

You can do this directly in the database

delete from chat where updated_at <= 1728335518 and archived = 0 and pinned = false;
this will delete anything last updated before the timestamp, that isn't archived, and isn't pinned.

Probably backup your db before trying this. Then run a scheduled script to do it on the command line (you'll need to generate the correct epoch value for Today - X days).

In most scenarios a user would not have admin permissions to delete database records, so this is not a feasible solution.

Ah sorry, thought you wanted a blanket "just keep my database small" solution for the people who are maintaining the solution, not a customisable user option.
