feat: New Function Type: Scheduled Background Task

Problem Description

• I see a lot of request about cleanup and sanity check tasks which should run in the background.
• With the introduction of the new Projects-like Folders I came up with the idea of perodically search through the conversations and automatically extract knowledge from it.
• Also a Auto Memory Filter would benefit from calling it perodically for entire conversation history instead of every message, like a filter function does.
• Another cool feature would be scheduled and/or repeated promts with tool use (like get the newest issues in my Jira and remind my Team in Slack to write me a status).

Desired Solution you'd like

I would like to propose a new kind of Function: Scheduled Background Tasks. It would fit nicely in the plugin ecosystem of openwebui, closing a gap to tools like n8n.

Would this feature support use cases like Grok's Tasks feature, giving the user the ability to schedule an prompt to run at set times, potentially using tools, and delivering the results to the use via some call/email?

User story: as a user, I can schedule an Ai analysis of a stock ticker using a web search tool, and provide the analysis/result via email to me at 5:00 every weekday.

Or is this a little more low level, more on a developer focused side?

Any update on this? Unanet, an ERP built for the architectural/engineering space just released their AI, and they have taken the approach of 'chores' which are scheduled tasks, and then also 'roundups' which it seems are just preset UI's created with AI but then the data is updated presumably also on a routine. These features are super helpful for businesses and I'd love to see OpenWebUI continue in that direction.

Hey guys, appreciate for the great work you’ve done. The development of all different kinds of agents like openclaw, lobehub etc. Openclaw can periodically check the dialog history to remind user whether there is something important left behind. And lobehub chat as we image shows, can set a customized prompt to run periodically. It’s time for OpenWebUI to support the same functionality. The internal logic can be implemented by the user themselves. But the first thing is to develop api interface for the uses to use.
