I’ve seen the existing threads on session chaining/export/history. Same underlying need — proposing a first-class UX layer.

Proposal

Add a per-session Session Log button that generates a structured summary intended for reuse.

Modes

• Context Pack
• Changelog
• Next Steps
• Full Recap

Scope

• This session
• Since last Session Log

Options (toggles)

• Include: decisions, action items, commands, files/paths touched, errors+fixes, artifact links, open questions
• Exclude: secrets by default (auto-redact); sensitive/personal content (opt-in)

Actions

• Copy
• Save as note
• Start new session with this log (inject Context Pack)

Success criteria

• Predictable sections + stable formatting
• Configurable mode/scope/toggles
• Redaction on by default
• Resume flow reliably carries the Context Pack

Thanks for the suggestion. I recommend filing an enhancement request. That way, other codex users can upvote and comment on it. The Codex team uses feature requests and upvotes as the primary way to prioritize feature work. There are some other feature requests relating to session management that may already capture some or all of your idea. Feel free to upvote or comment on those.
