No DNS in VM until set manually

I'm having trouble with a new vm I just created.

I created and started the VM via these commands:

$ tart clone ghcr.io/cirruslabs/macos-tahoe-vanilla:latest tahoe-vanilla
$ tart run tahoe-vanilla

Then I logged in (in another terminal tab) and ran these commands:

$ ssh admin@$(tart ip tahoe-vanilla)
# ssh first time login stuff and password prompt blah blah
$ bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CamJN/dot-files/master/setup.sh)"

Since that didn't work I did some investigating as follows:

$ dig google.com

As you can see the DNS that is setup by default: fe80::842f:57ff:fe70:8f64%5 and 192.168.64.1 does not work, and I have to change it to have working DNS in the VM.

Is this expected? Am I missing some required step?
