[release-4.18] OCPBUGS-80278: fix CVE-2026-33186 by replacing grpc-go#8515
Conversation
OCPBUGS-85624 Replace google.golang.org/grpc with the patched fork github.com/openshift-sustaining/grpc-go v1.71.3-sec.1 to fix CVE-2026-33186 (GHSA-p77j-4mvh-x3m3). The vulnerability allowed authorization bypass via malformed :path headers missing the leading slash, which could bypass path-based deny rules in interceptors like grpc/authz. The patch enforces strict path checking for incoming requests on the server.
