These days many imagery corporations use Auto selection to find the most cloud free, and the most sharpest images for a given area, of course recency is considered too.
So maybe iD could do the same. In other words add an
Auto
choice to the
Bing
etc.
list, for users who are tired of manually switching back and forth.
