I just created our church today and am trying to get an understanding of how the different modules work together. I've read through the documentation and can't find anything that specifically addresses my issues.
In the admin portal I created a "Sunday School" group. I created a "Services" calendar with the intent of pulling in worship services and Sunday school. First I added Sunday school directly to the "Services" calendar, selecting the "Sunday School" group, which sort of worked. I created a recurring event every Sunday at 10am starting on Aug 2, 2026. When I went to the Sunday school group, the Sunday school event was showing every Monday starting on Aug 3, 2026. I deleted this event because I couldn't find any way to edit it. Next, I added the same event, but from the calendar tab inside the Sunday school group, double and triple checking I had selected the correct days/dates. It did the exact same thing, showing the event recurring on Mondays instead of Sundays as specified. I deleted this event also.
After reading through the calendar documentation again, I switched to the Church app and went into my Sunday school group where I also tried adding the recurring event for Sunday school. This time it showed properly on the calendar in the Church app, but when switching back to the admin portal that event was shown on the Services calendar, even though the Sunday School group was added to the Services calendar with the option for displaying all events selected.
I've double checked the public/private settings are configured as discussed in the documentation, although it shouldn't matter since I am the domain admin.
I have a moderate background in web design, python scripting, javascript coding, webserver/docker/network management, and other related IT so it's not that I don't have any clue what I'm trying to do.
